Help For Your Entire Community |
This help is available to churches, non-for-profit institutions, libraries, boys and girls clubs, elected officials for their offices, and individuals. THE GED SEMINAR is designed to motivate people to take the GED test. The GED includes material that people studied in elementary school, junior high school, and high school. It is designed so that people with a reading level of the ninth grade and less can pass. People who only went to the second grade sometimes pass the GED. How? They have learned to read well enough on their own to pass. Some adults were excellent students before they dropped out of school. A person can pass the math without knowing Algebra and Geometry. And a person can pass getting than fewer than half the answers right, if he or she writes a good composition. About eighty percent of the GED is reading comprehension. A person can pass with little knowledge of science and social studies. Calculator use has been introduced for half of the Math in all languages. The GED is mostly multiple choice questions, except for the math where some of the questions have to be worked out. There are five subjects: Writing, Social Studies, Science, Math, and Literature or Reading. The test lasts under 8 hours. TAKE THE OFFICIAL PRACTICE TEST. When a person passes with a minimum of 410 on each part and has a score of 2,250, he or she should think about taking the GED right away or soon. TAKE THIS BRIEF GED PRACTICE TEST CONSISTING OF 6 QUESTIONS. - If a person gets all 6 right, it is a great sign. We can email the questions to you. If a person gets all 6 wrong, it looks bad, but what if the person finds the next 6 questions easier and gets them all right. This happens. If it does happen, the person may be on the road to passing. That is why a person should complete an entire OFFICIAL PRACTICE TEST and NOT GIVE UP ON THE REAL TEST AFTER DOING A PART OF A TEST. ALL QUESTIONS SHOULD BE ANSWERED. One of my graduates, did ten questions in a practice test in a book and got only one right, but he passed the real GED soon after. KEY THINGS TO LEARN NOW ABOUT THE GED. Some correct answers are only a re-wording of what is in the reading. For example, in the reading it may name someone as a Congressman, but in the answer it says he was a great legislator. Many problems that people get wrong happen because people select answers that they know to be factual, but the cartoon, picture, graphs, table or map have nothing at all to do with the answer that was selected. I guess they either do not understand the cartoon or picture or they do not make the connection between the meaning of the cartoon or picture and the correct answer. People often fail because they make simple mistakes that could have been easily corrected. Sometimes that mistake is corrected with a second, more careful reading of the question and the choices. A person may not realize that the t in thanksgiving has to be capitalized. People fail the math because they do not understand everything on the Formula Sheet or they do not use the Formula Sheet during the test. The Formula Sheet is an aid and even shows you how to do the area, perimeter, and volume signs more easily. There are different ways to solve math problems. You can multiply or you can add to get the right answer. Seven times four can be done counting seven four times or four seven times. HOME STUDY IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN STUDY IN THE CLASSROOM. If you wait for the teacher to give you assignments, you lose time. What if you are absent one week and the teacher is absent the next? That means two weeks have been lost. STUDY AT HOME EACH WEEK. Also move ahead of the class. You will get that GED quicker and use it to get a job or enter a school or university. DO THE PRACTICE TEST IN YOUR GED BOOK. All of the answers are in the back of the book with good explanations. If you follow the information in the front of your book, you can do an analysis of your mistakes and find out which pages you have to read to improve and to pass the GED. FINISH THE BOOK AFTER YOU GET YOUR DIPLOMA. Do not throw away the book and do not give it to someone to keep. MANY PEOPLE FAIL THE REAL GED. Do not throw away the transcript because you have failed. It will cost you money to get another one. The transcript could be used by a professional to give you a better strategy for taking the test again. Your highest score, each time you repeat the test, is kept and your low score is thrown out. IF YOU FAIL BY ONLY TEN POINTS TAKE THE ENTIRE TEST OVER. You never know if you will go up or down in each subject and taking the entire 5 parts over is your insurance that you will have a good chance to pass. If you fail a part by thirty points, you may just have had a bad day. Some people can pass the same part the next day without studying. The GED can be used by people to get into community colleges, four year college programs with very high marks on the GED, theological colleges for pastors, adoption of children, army enlistment, and beauty schools and other licensed schools. The GED is great for family success, since it motivates the children whose parents have earned a GED to seek higher education. It is good for family, community, church, military, higher educational institutions, work force, and our state and nation. It makes people more competitive instead of less competitive. Immigrants should do the GED in their first year in this country in Spanish and French, if those are their native languages. As soon as they learn English enough to pass a civil service test or pass a job interview in English, they will be on the road to a better life and their family and the community will benefit. We can find locations in your state where these people can be tested in those languages or we can access information from neighboring states that may permit them to take the test there. People on tourist visas or work permits, too, may have the opportunity to complete their education in certain states by taking the GED. New York State has granted that permission to employees in a traveling circus. The GED has been made available online in English in other countries through Thomson Pro-Metric. You may visit the website of that company. FEEL FREE TO CALL OR WRITE MARTIN GET THE PROGRAM AND MARTIN WILL MAKE YOU STRONGER FOR LIFE |
